Front Brake & Grip Covers

On my recently acquired Kymco People S 250  w/300 miles on it the front brake takes more travel than the rear brake. I measured the lever from the grips thinking that might be it, same distance.

Is that by design so someone does not use too much front brake or do I need to look further into this? Not spongy but takes more pull.

Put on these grip covers tonight, just rode down the alley, I think I will like them but I do need more time trying these out. This makes the grips a little over 1 1/2 inches.

The front brake lever usually travels around an inch or less... how much is yours?

If you are measuring from about the middle of the grip to the lever, the front moves about an inch or a bit (1/16) under, the rear moves about 1/2 inch.

So, in an emergency situation your rear brakes engages a split second ahead of the front once you squeeze both grips at the same time...hmmm...  If the brakes are not spongy, they're good../ 

Does your scoot have a dual circuit system? meaning two separate masters one front and one for the rear since your scoot have discs for both front and rear.... My scoot has a drum rear (mechanical) and disc up front (hydraulic)... If one fails, I still have the other...

Yes it does have separate masters for the front and rear, the front has dual disk and maybe that is it, I don't know but I do not like it. I am better at modulating my brakes by feel and I lose braking power on the front because I have to pull it in much more, but maybe for the masses it prevents surprises.

My brakes up front engages first... I even use the front earlier than the rear...

When I wear gloves the grip covers make it easier to grab the grips. This makes the scooter grips about the same size as my other street bikes.
