CVT Belt Prices
« on: December 28, 2013, 07:30:59 PM »
Hello all.

What is the price of a belt for the GTI? I go on all the Kymco part websites and it always says "call for pricing" (kind of disappointing when you want to order online). Is there any aftermarket belts you guys are using?

I heard that the belts are around the $200 range. Is this true?

It bugs me too that retailers don`t post prices. I think it is bull s***.
If they have them in stock, they know the price.
From what I`ve seen, prices run around $100.- $115..
Too da** high IMHO.
Why would a small belt cost $100+?.

Update: As of 3/6/2014 Parts Outlaw has GT belts for $89.77.
If order is over $100., shipping is free.

Find out what the belt size is and try to find a Gates Powerlink from an online vendor.  I bought two for my Taiwanese GY6 150cc for $27 apiece.

Beware of a counterfeit belts for both Bando and Gates.

cross checked again and the only supplier for my down town is mitsuboshi size is 1004 mm/ 25.2  with 30 degree v that size is from mitsuboshi   but the belts ive bought are 1004/ 24.5 that is on the edge of worn out,
has any one else measured the belt width, and the length,.  it is measured with a tailors tape, around the outside of the belt,.  the first belt I got is 1010 mm. and two more belts measure 1004 mm.  I guess close is OK,.

Thanks dee dee. I think that I will stick with the original Kymco belt as it's Kevlar material which would last a lot longer.

yes the belts last the first belt lasted over 30,000 km that about 20,000 miles,. (16,000km per 10,000 miles)   your supposed to change them at 20,000 km. I was seeing how far I could go on the belt,. when I changed it there were small cracks in the belt, but it still looked good if you did not flex the belt,.
