Great Prices Xciting & People S200
« on: November 12, 2013, 10:13:38 PM »
I'm no expert on Kymco prices (or much of anything else, for that matter) but $1699 for a new 2010 People S200,  and $2500 for a new 2010 Xciting 250 seem like crazy good deals to me. That People is just about half what I paid for my LIKE.

Dadgum, I went to sleep last night daydreaming about thumbing to Minnesota and throwing down $1700 and riding that People home to Ohio.....slowly of course, with lots of stops and a couple oils changes (both of 'em).
Minnesota couldn't be that much colder than Ohio (snow flurries and 25 this morning)

Tell my boss I have the flu .....

Geez, they have a black one and a red one.
I'll take the red, thanks.
Yeah, well......I'll get my big wheel scoot one of these days. Maybe.....

What do you guys think ?

I say Proverbs 5:18:  "Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice in the wife of your youth."   ;D
Normal is boring.

That Xciting is appealing. I didn't know there were any new 250 models around.

I'm thinking the People 200 has the same size engine as the Like. I could use a second scooter with a higher top speed so the Exciting would be a good second for me. Either scooter would be a sweet deal. Nice find, Stig.

Yes especially in Asia... where cost is of primary consideration...  ;) ;)   However, any scoot or bike with an engine displacement of less than 400 is not allowed on our freeways...  :'(  I need to save for a 400cc....

Why? How fast do you usually ride on your freeways?
No matter which modern 400cc scooter, they all can exeed 140kph.
That's enough for every American or European country, incl. the German Autobahn (partially unlimited, you may ride 400kph or more if you can).
(Not to mention an old (198x) Suzuki RG 400 with 4 cylinders 2stroke and a top speed beyond 200kph.)

I know from a similar old rule in Italy: >150cc.
Had the effect, that the 151cc bikes used simple carbureted engines with low rpm producing less power output than the modern fuel injected 125cc. Actually nobody cares about the displacement. It's a relict from ancient times (i.e. 1946 Vespa 98cc and 60kph, 1948 Vespa 125cc and 70kph).

Yes, it's a baseless primitive rule... law makers are not riders or even engineers... but it's the law...  I think it's more of the popularity of the Honda CB400... this is the average "big bike" here and lots of them on the road.... If only 'big bikes" are allowed... they start with the Honda cb400...

But the Honda CB 400 has less than 400cc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CB400
So the CB 400 isn't freeway-legal!?

Like I said, the law makers are stupid... they look at the sticker or emblem... You can stick a "400" emblem on your 250cc and you're bike is freeway legal... Btw, the cops are also stupid when it comes to these things....  We have another law against loud pipes... but ask them the definition of "loud" and they don't know... Lol!

Ah, that's why the Chinese 50cc scoots are called "Rex 450" and higher. (I had one before.)

A 50cc is too obviously a small scoot...  The Xciting 250 has the same body size as the 500... this you can stick a 400 or 500 sticker at the side and get away with it...
