Riding season begins
« on: November 26, 2013, 12:37:07 PM »
Bright sun, moderate midday heat, white sparkling mountains, closed snow cover on the glade, snowmelt frozen again in the shady hairpin - now riding became interesting again.

Studs prohibited.
Scooter winter tyres i.e. from "Heidenau" (small local manufacturer): http://www.reifenwerk-heidenau.de/modules/reifenliste/view.php?point=5&rtyp=16
(And from many more brands like Michelin, Continental, Schwalbe, IRC, Sava, ...)

Don't forget your counter-steering as you go 'round those bends, looking over your right shoulder at the road ahead of you -sliding sideways over the ice on your Happy Heidenaus!
You enjoy that! ? (Are you an ex-dirt tracker from American county fairs of the 1960's?)
Send pictures please!
Actually, I think we can get Heidenaus here - I just can't afford the $400 to buy and have them installed for winter - will do my best on the City Grips.
Ride safe,

I don't know. I never tried dedicated winter tyres. Currently I use "K58 mod" (all season) on my Yager.

No sips cut in the Michelin City Grips - there are a couple of 'winter scooter tires' with those sips in them. But I can't afford to switch back and forth. I have to pay $140 to get them mounted at my dealer.
