I agree with big o on this in Arizona. I wear a long sleeve 100% cotton shirt & white painters pants (100% also),(real thick), when it is hot. Always have, even when I rode harley's. Never wore black. U will die in an AZ summer if you do. I have had a Hein Gharic German brown leather jacket for well over 25 years. No patches or pins. I keep those in a box. I have never understood the need of harley people to fit in???? Why do you need someone else's approval? But if u want to talk about clicks, try to talk to a BMW owner! And even Gold wing owners have a stick up their bung holes often. :-*

LOL.  Yes, some of them are anal.  Mostly Harleys in NE PA.  Most of them are cool.  They still like to tease me, but, like Big O, I let them know all of the great things about the 500... that usually shuts them up. ;)

It has been cold in AZ and rainy for a few week and I got to ride today it was glorious.  It was only to the gym and back 16 miles.  This is an awesome bike and I am stoked every time I get to fire it up.

I hope the weather improves soon.   I have begun to dislike the winter even in Arizona.

I wish I could ride more and drive less!

Actually I know some pretty good Harley guys. Most of them just need something bigger between their legs is all.

Decisions, decisions. And you guys didn't help much. See, I love my '09 X500. Got a custom seat and bars and a few touches. Nice big topcase. GPR muffler and motorcross air filter, it's quick. Quick all the way to 70mph, and then the big twins make me a little envious.

Now as I was walking my wife's dog the other day, my neighbor says, "Hey man, Wan'na trade that little scooter you're trying to sell for my Honda Magna?"

My wife had a 2010 Kymco Yager 200. She thought she wanted to take some trips with me, 'cause she sees me with the happy smile after some 200 mile rides on my X500. Then she made one run to Austin and did not like it. So I traded. Now I have a 1994 Honda Magna - a V4 muscle bike. Four cylinders. Awesome hot rod motor in a cruiser frame. And I like to cruise. Rode my '07 X500 from New Orleans to San Antonio in one day. Put more than 1400 miles on that scooter in 5 days, including a 2 day stay in New Orleans for my son's wedding.

So I am torn as to which one to keep. Got to sell one 'cause my wife is wanting a Buddy 125. That Magna is wonderful on the highway. Not as good mileage, but . . . smoother than my scooter.

So as I am making up my mind, I came to the forum and this was the first post I read. Oh you guys. You just reminded me again how many things there are about the X500 that make it a great ride.

It is nice to be here reading your posts. Thanks
