Thought I would share and ask your opinion on the subject.

Yesterday I was going over my wife s car to prepare for a trip.
I pulled out seven tire pressure gauges, not counting the ones in the glove compartments of each vehicle.
Started checking pressure in tires and switching gauges. All but two gauges gave a different reading, as much as four psi difference.
Four psi is a lot.
I have no idea which one is giving an accurate reading.
Does anyone know of a brand of gauge that is accurate?.

Are your gauges accurate?. If so, how do you know?.
Is there a way to check for accuracy?.

How do you know if your $30. truck gauge is accurate?.

Guess I am wondering how the average person can check their gauge for accuracy.

You guys are right. Every gauge I had was wrong... according to the new ones...
I bought five of these after buying the first two. They are in every vehicle I own, and in both my home, and work shops.

Every one of them reads the same. I use both low pressure (paint spraying), and high pressure (80psi trailer tires). These get two thumbs up from me!

I have been researching tire pressure gauges the last few days trying to find an accurate and affordable gauge.
This one keeps popping up as being accurate and priced in the $18-$20 range.

Update 5/4/2014
Received new gauge today. Started comparing my other gauges against the Accutire. One gauge was 5 psi shy.
The only thing I don`t like about the new gauge is its size. Larger than I like.
Using some of my older gauges, I have been under inflating my scooter tires.

When I can locate a Bikemaster, I am going to try one and compare to the Accutire. I like the shape of it.
Maybe one of our local bike shops carry them. Would like to fondle before I buy.

Thanks for posting that report. I was thinking of buying one of the Slime digital gauges. But seeing the questionable accuracy, I think I'll spend a couple extra bucks on one that got better testing results.

  It's like a lot of things. Usually you get what you pay for!

I usually get a higher priced gauge... I'm more concerned on not loosing air than being accurate...
