Petrol freezes at about -45°C.
But from my experience it is already hard to start the engine at -20°C. Oil thick, battery weak, not enough compression and spraying of fuel, weak spark.

Frankly if your riding at -20C or below you are a better man (or woman) than I am.

Rode 93 miles today. Temperature ranged between 36-33 degrees. Not my cup of tea but tolerable. I use activ heat glove liners, turtle fur neck liner, slider winter gloves and wind pants along with layers and a Fieldsheer jacket. 40 and over is so much better than anything less. Never ride with snow/ice at beginning but have been caught at the end.

So on the news last night they said over the weekend we will be at 40 days where the morning low is below zero just for this year. All of next week is forecasted below zero too. It's sad though when I go out in the morning and think 10 below is balmy compared to 20 below. :o

Slinger's a trooper. 20 below is just insane. I'll ride in the cold. Doesn't mean I like it. But ya know you do what you have to do. I've rode in the snow. We don't get much here in NC. Just don't go too fast and keep your feet down.  ;)

There is something about the 50 degree line for me too. It's the difference between going all out and just a jacket and gloves.
