S9 Dyeing
« on: January 15, 2014, 02:28:12 PM »
So my S9 LC was running great, now my engines missing at low rpm (this may be unrelated) and its dyes without throttle. When i first start it it runs fine but when i rev to high rpm (around 7500 rpm) and let off it either bounces between 2000 and 3000 rpm then just dies or it gets stuck a 4000 rpm with no throttle. My S9 is all stock and the only mod is my boss drive is derestricted and battery was change.

How much mileage do you have on your Super 9?
Did you ride it regularly?

I am thinking you have an air leak or a plugged carburetor. A lean mixture (i.e. Not enough gas through intake) may be causing your engine to surge and stay at high rpms.

It has little of 4500 miles on it and yes it is my daily driver but i have only been the owner for about a month. I considered it may be something with the carb, but I am curious if it may be my CDI.

When was the last time the scooter was serviced? Maybe you are simply due for a tune-up and carburetor cleaning.

Well shes clean but not tuned yet. Seems to have fixed my issues with bogging and hard starts, but it is still dyeing without throttle. Hopefully a tune up will fix that!  :)
