..pics of my malossi after 4000 km..

..significant flats on each set of two's "trailing" roller..

..ramp plate has some striations, but mostly ok..

..moveable pulley is smooth, with no grooves..

..new standard belt looks fine....

..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

That's how mine were beginning to wear too; and only after 1500kms!

Kinda strange how they wear every other roller like that!

..so I cleaned and polished everything...got rid of any deposits with some Scotch-Brite..

..put the flat rollers in the "leading" slots...wow!...

..made a significant difference in take-off and overall acceleration...

..I'm back to where I was when I installed it new...

this might seem like a dumb question, but how do you tell which are the leading slots??

..the only "dumb question" is one that's not asked...we're all here to learn..

 ;D

..The variator rotates in the same direction as your rear tire..

..There are 3 sets of two rollers, spaced closer together..

..I'm calling the "leading rollers", (my term) the ones on the left in each set of two, if the unit is installed on the scooter...
