Rare Starting Issue

I've got a 2010, purchased new last summer. 1,100km on it. In general it starts well. But every 15 or 20 starts there will be a time when it may take 5 attempts before it gets going. Usually it will have been ridden earlier in the day. It just seems strange. Other times it can not start faster.

Any idea why this is?

If it doesn't start right away is it a good idea to move the throttle a little to prime it?

OK, Vision, a 2010 "WHAT"? What is it? There are some specialists on this forum that know the "quirks" of each model of Kymco. You need to share some really basic information for anyone to help you.

Karl, it's a 2010 Agility 125. We are in the Agility 125 forum aren't we?

Yes, Vision, you got me on that one! The Agility 50 and the 125 are both carburetor models, I believe. I had a 50 and it was really hard to start in cool to cold weather. I would just play with the throttle when the engine gave the first pop. This may be the only answer to that occasional "hard start" question. Anything with a carb will require a special, sequential procedure to start reliably. That "bystarter" autochoke thingy does not seem to work as well as an old fashioned manual choke. I should add that they also seem to be very temperature sensitive like during the cool down stage. There are times between fully up to temp and stone cold that they will start well and others that seem to preclude starting at all.
