Directional Lights Don't Work At Idle
« on: May 26, 2014, 02:23:32 AM »
The blinkers (turn signals) on son's Vitality 50 do not work when he applies the brakes or when the engine is at idle speed. A strange buzzing sound comes from the front of the scooter when he turns on the blinkers. Any help would be appreciated.

A fresh battery will stop all that. There is not enough current from the stator to run the flasher from the blinkers at idle w/out a fresh battery.

The sound you hear is the relay buzzing instead of clicking.

I suspected the battery may be the cause of the problem but I didn't replace it because the electric start doesn't work. That's next on the list of things to repair on this old scooter.

Thanks Again Zombie...I appreciate you sharing your expertise.

Get a bosch replacement 30a relay for like 8 bucks. It's an easy rewire. That's the 99 percent of the time problem.
