2008 Agility 50 issues
« on: April 04, 2014, 03:54:11 PM »
Hello all you Kymco people!

I have had my agility 50 for three years now, and it will always start and go, but no matter the weather it takes about 10-15 tries to get it to actually idle.  It will start, run for about 20 seconds, die, then if I let it sit for about five minutes it will start right back up and do the same again.

If I don't let it sit for five minutes it takes a minute or more to start it.  I have never had any luck using the foot starter, only the electric has worked for me.

Sometimes pumping the throttle will help, sometimes it will not.

I have changed the air filter, spark plug, cleaned the carb, changed the oil and ran through it and made sure all of the hoses and such are on it tight.

Once it starts, if I lay on the throttle it just sputters out, this happens over and over again and it has only gotten worse throughout the years.  It used to be bearable, but now it takes me 20+ minutes to get it to start (this is if I do not let it sit five minutes in between attempts, if I do that it can take far longer).

Suggestions?  Any more information needed?

Thank you in advance,

Tyler

Check valve clearance.

Test carb enricher.

Add around 2 ounces of Techron to the gas tank before refilling.

My BILs A50 did that, we thought auto bystarter, that could be the problem with yours

it wasn't with his though, we took apare the carb abd found a bad o ring for the air cut off valve. its a plate on the side of the carb with 2 screws and a spring in it or something, with bad oring it was leaking air and too lean until the sccot warmed up

Agility 50 w/72cc BBK, A9 cam, stock airbox and exhaust (both drilled out), remove air tube restriction, stock head, stock carb, 105 main jet, CDI cut, smooth variator boss, stock variator w/5g rollers

When or if I ever have a carb problem I most likely always just replace the carb just so I know its all good. it dont hurt just to by pass all other prolems with the carb.I clean and reuse carbs if they look good........

But before you spend alot of money on a carb try and adjusted the valves if you or someone you know that can work on moped valves can't get it running then go for the carb
