I think I found a deal on a used 500 UXV carb model??
« on: May 12, 2014, 10:53:19 PM »
Hello,

I have been looking at buying a Side by Side for some time,  I just came across what looks to be a good deal,  2012 Carb model 500 UXV, 1500 miles, with a windshield.   The problem is when I drove it, it seems to have a lag when you stomp on the gas.  when running through anything technical or mildly up hill, I was in low range..  I was wondering if the EFI models are better, or is it just the 500 needs more engine?

I found a Jet kit called 6 Sigma, that reads like it is similar to a Dynajet type kit. Has anyone ever used one? If so,any thoughts on it.

I also see that there are a few companies offering clutch kits, but EPI only lists one up to 2009, anyone know if it will be the same through current models?  And how much does the "white spring clutch mod" get you?

A local dealer also told me today, that in 2013 some time, they started using tighter gearing to get better low end power, at a cost of slower top end speeds. anyone out there who can confirm that? I don't need to go 55mph.

Thanks all for any help.

Good machine, I would make sure that it hasn't say for extended periods since it is the carb model.  As for the clutching, I'm not sure what it's purpose is, but it seems to be very popular
