Leo Vince Exhaust on the 50T engine ???
« on: October 01, 2009, 11:07:23 PM »

Hi I briefly mentioned this on my other post but anyone used one of the these on the 4t 50cc engine.

Anyone heard them, does the bike still have the nice cooler sound as the origional, and not to loud or buzzy ???

Is it going to add much after the usual mods or is it £100 notes for not much more ???

Many Thanks Mark.

Aftermarket exhust systems improve the performance on 2-stroke engines . Without re-jetting your carburator and custom tuning it would make no difference on your scooter other than being louder . If thats what you want just punch some holes in your muffler .

Leo Vince isn't a bad exhaust.  I wouldn't use it on the People 50 2t because the gearing (due to large rear wheel) makes it really tricky to dial in.  Super 9, cobra, Vitality, etc are perfect candidates for an expansion chamber though.  You'll want lighter roller weights and different clutch springs to go with it to get the best benefit.  Your engine will rev higher with this.  If set up correctly, it will perform better than it did stock.  If you just bolt it on, more times than not your low end (off the line) performance will suffer.

I had Leo Vince on my Piaggio NRG extreme 2T with 72 cc kit, and it performed great.

Haven't heard this particular one on a scooter, but have on plenty of sport bikes.  They make some of the best pipes in the world, next to Akrapovic.  Besides, I'm not sure how many diff manufactures there are for scoot exhaust for that particular model.  I'm sure if you get it, you will not be disappointed.

Hey stad. yama. Good to see you posting. You guys are mentioned here at least once a week. Hills: some of the leo pipes come w/ restrictors built in. A pipe makes more power on a 2t vs the same size 4t. If you expect dramitic difference, I don't think you will get it. There are several models that are NOT street legal (who cares) and they will be quite loud. Technigas also makes some of these so you may want to comapre. The mods you have done to date are the biggest bang for the buck. Once you get into the pipe you will have to get into the carb, and air filter to get all the extra the pipe is made for. Perhaps calling tech.support at any of the pipe builders will help you decide.
