People 50 fuel gauge not giving accurate reading.
« on: May 15, 2014, 05:43:46 PM »
My peoples 50 fuel gauge reads in accurately when it's 3/4 full it reads the dot above empty. Is the float stuck and not allowing it to go up?

Pull it out and see.

Could the float be stuck?   Yes

My guess is the wiper/contact have some corrosion, and PB blaster can help clean it. Not WD 40 or Armour all.

I pulled the float assembly out and moved the float. the gauge went up when I moved it up and down. So my guess is the pun that allows the float arm is not allowing it to move freely causing it to not move and just giving a inaccurate reading how to I fix the pin?

Make sure your float is not full of gas.
