Foot pegs?
« on: September 08, 2014, 05:52:37 PM »
Has anyone toyed with the idea of adding foot pegs to their Bike?  It would be nice to be able to stretch my legs on those long rides.

I'm sure some scooter owners have considered forward pegs for added comfort.
I am one of them.
Have seen some on other brands of scooters. Most I have seen look really junky.
Personally, before I would add pegs, they would have to be of a strong, neat design.
I think most scooters owned by members here are fairly new and under warrany.
To install forward pegs, one would have to cut holes in their body work.
Most would be reluctant to cut holes in a scoot under warranty. Me included.
When the warranty runs out on a lot of our scoots, you will probably start seeing these kinds of mods.
The double cradle design of our scoots lends itself to this mod.

100% Boo! They do require you cut the shell, and mount them to the frame. Door edge trim neatens up the installation.

I get pretty stiff in my hips and knees and have put highway pegs on most of my regular motorcycles. However, on my GTi I find relief by putting my heels as far forward on the floorboard and pointing my toes at "10 and 2".  This allows my knees to extend greater than 90 degrees and lets my hamstrings and calf muscles stretch out.

Of course with the leg pain alleviated, my focus then is directed towards the seat...

Funny how that happens... Fix the big issues, and the smaller ones show up. Just can't win for trying...
