Speedo correction.

 :-\ I have a 2009 Kymco Grand Vista and would like to know how far off is the speedo. Is there any way to correct .

There are plenty of speedo apps for smart phones which use GPS. That will tell you as close as you're gonna get on actual speed. As far as fixing it, I'm not sure there is a way. Maybe changing the sprocket in the wheel but then I'd worry about it lining up with the worm gear correctly.

A slightly taller front tire (i.e.-from a 120/70 to a 120/80-not sure what your tire size is) will make it closer, but you have to make sure it will clear the front fender. And it may affect how the scoot rides and handles.

  I used a GPS to check the speedo on my GT300I. I found it was slightly high. I just invested in new Michelin City Grips and changed the front tire size from a 110/70-16 to a 120/70-16. The slightly bigger tire put my speedometer right on the money. My first scooter was a People 150. That speedo was of by 10%. That much difference can't be made up with a bigger tire. Get a GPS and determine how much of a correction is needed. Then you can decide if you can correct it.
