this forum is dead
« on: September 17, 2009, 04:35:26 PM »
I was hoping this forum would be as interesting as a forum I visit for my Scarabeo 200 - which has several new posts daily.  I have found this forum to get very little traffic  I am wondering why??  Are there that few ps250's out there??  Do people who buy ps250's not get into maintenance, upgrading, and repairs of their scooters.  I have not found a better site for the ps250, but this one is very unrewarding for me.  If you know of a better site please let me know, and I will quit checking here so often to lessen my disappointment.

71 views shows some life here, or someone is really bored and enjoys reading this particular post!!  You know of course that these forums are not "read only" right?

Took my Aprilia 200 Scarabeo (chinese nasty) to lunch today - including 3 miles on the connector (freeway) - was kinda spooky feeling - the ps250 is much better and will be great with the large windshield on this winter.

I can only contribute what I know, and I do -- but when I do, it's generally about the scooter I have, which is the People 250. Which, as you know, isn't the same as your bike, the People S250.

If you like, I could make up some totally useless stuff to fill up the forum, though.  :)

I'm sorry, I must have missed the question!

Well you gotta consider a few things. For instance, my People 250 is ugly! Its a 2004 and it looks like a creepy robot from Lost In Space. Although it gets up to 85 mph very quickly you are not going to find a lot of people tricking it out. I've installed Dr Pulley weights,  a new variator, and a kevlar belt. I've cut the windshield down because I don't like things in my line of vision. I am currently working on my Blur 150, trying to make a fast little sucker. And the thought has crossed my mind on making the People insanely fast. Unfortunately its my wife's scooter and she says to leave it alone. But I have done things to it without her knowledge as she does not ride it that much. Maybe next install a flatslide carb, or weld a White Brothers exhaust to it, or install a cylinder kit. Who knows, the skies the limit.

Kymco doesnt break  like  Aprillia or  Piaggio  (own(ed)  both)..Less problems, less verbal  chatter to  justify  a  bad  purchase..Hope  that  helps  you  understand...Kinda  like the  MAYTAG repairman...

how about a picture or 2 of "ugly" - the older p250's I have seen look fine to me, but maybe I am missing something.

There are lots of photos of BRU over at my blog (the link in my signature). I'm just not that into Kymco's styling, is all.

Here's another view of Big Grey. I am the third owner. It has 27,000 kilometers on it. And when I bought it off Craigslist for $1800 I didn't know it had a charging problem. I replaced the rectifier and battery. Still it would discharge. I actually had to break into the engine casing and replace the stator. Which was completely fried. The first Kymco P250 the scooter store has ever heard of. So basically I have an entirely new electrical system.

The robot from Lost In Space, eh?

I always describe it as looking like an electric space heater from the 1950s. Y'know... art deco done up by non-artists.
