headlamp turn signals?
« on: May 24, 2014, 05:37:27 PM »
So ever since I bought my 12' agility 50 I never noticed these two bulbs in the actual head lamp because they have never come on and I noticed them today while see what the headlight bulb type was to replace. Can anyone tell me why they aren't working or have never worked and are they extra turn signals? Because I would love to use them eitherway. Thanks

If in the US they are not hooked up.  They don't meet US specs for turn signals.  I did hook them up to my turn signals but they are very bright in my opinion.  and since headlights is on constent no need to hook them up as driving lights.

Are you referring to the bulbs to the right, and left of the headlight? or the ones in the front cowl?

The ones in the headlight lens are supposed to be on when you start the bike. Like day time driving lights. Most likely just blown bulbs. They are very dim, and no one ever notices them working or not,

Zombie,

Mine actually were never hooked up from dealer.  2011 agility 50.  The wire comes out of the bulb sockets to the plug for the headlight but the but the the plug on the wiring harness for the scooter did not have a wire in it the would hookup to the same location of the wire location for those lights on the headlight plug.

I spliced the wires to my turn signals and they worked but like you said they were very bright.  now that I think about it I guess they wouldn't be turn signals since they were in the same plug location.  (My fault for trusting the internet)

So they are in the head lamp cluster or on the cowl?

Got it.
Those are supposed to be DayTime driving lights, and not blinkers. At least you have them working.

I wire LED lamps ()like the Rukas) and they are on when the bike is running. I don't know that they help people see the bike any better but it makes me feel better.

Thanks guy! They are in the headlamp. I did have the feeling that they are used as signals in other countries due to the wack U.S. standards. lol I will check to see if they are blown. I"ll  grab some amber colored bulbs (to convert to signals) and remove my ugly broken U.S. signals for a cleaner look. 8)
