GPS MOUNT

Going on an 1156 mile trip on Xciting 250. Friend is lending me his Garmin ( I can't remember the model now (street pilot) It is about 6"x3"x2". I noticed most people use a mirror mount for their GPS on the Xcitings.
Anyone have any other way to mount their GPS. I think that I am going to remove the Center Cover from the handlebar and use an uclamp.
I would be interested in any ideas.

From TX. thru Arkansas end up at Springfield MO.  Looks like me an my buddy that is loaning me the GPS are going to cobble something up.

It promises to be an adventure. Perhaps not a comfortable one, but an Adventure nonetheless.

Yeah, I frequent advrider. I got some good advice there. I finished the trip on Monday morning. The Xciting worked very well, even though I never was able to get a GPS. One thing that someone recommended at advrider was the Gel Seat cushion at walmart. That thing came in handy. A must have for any trip over a couple of hours. I did over 1200 miles and most of it over 70, so this scooter is capable and very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to take a trip twice that far with enough time.

You may want to look at the Givi s850 it has Velcro straps that strap to each side of the handlebars so the GPS sits in the middle. I have not tried it yet, but it’s the best option I have seen yet.

Urbestfriend ran into the same debocle.  I bought a Garman Nuvi for Vacation,
then wanted to verify speeds on the five bikes.  That Givi bag, although neat,
I believe was around $70.00.   For my Xciting 250,  I modified the stock bracket
that came with the unit and screwed / JB Welded the mount / arm to the "i.e. Horn"
button on the handle bars.  The mount stays,  the GPS is removable and very secure.

For my Grandvista,  I searched and found "GPSNow.com".  They had Garmin Swivel
Base $9.99 just like what came on the sandbag unit, I bought with the GPS as a deal.

The Grandvista (i.e. Horn" button has a recessed center logo.  Buy some of that clear
epoxy mold stuff at a hobby store,  Micheals,  Hobby Lobby, etc.  Fill the depression to
the top and then mount the GPS base the next day using the 2-way tape that comes
with the mount.   Be selective and you can save some money and still have a successful
installation.
