Battery for the Like 200i
« on: June 02, 2014, 04:02:57 PM »
Dead batt, sucks. Anyways there's an interstate ytx9-bs batt in there now. Anyone know how many amp hours this batt is? Interstate store is no help neither is the like manual. What is supposed to be in there in case I need a new one? Dealer who I bought it from doesn't know if it's 2 years old or 2 months/no date on batt. Is interstate an OEM battery? Batts charging now, dunno where I'll end up. All the info I come up with is just CCA, what amp hour batt do I need, 6, 8, 9, 12?

Stick batter says KYMCO on it and may be made by Yuasa. It's rated at about 9 amp. Pretty much any battery that cross references to yuasa YTX9L-BS will work well. The new gel battery work really well.

I put in the YUASA YTZ12S, with 210 ccamps. This required trimming about 5mm off of the 2 round hold-down posts on underside of the battery cover.

Thanks Stig great info, cleared a lot up. Found out on the original sales paper work that the Interstate was installed when I bought it cuzz they upcharged it on the invoice for tax purposes. Only paid $1999 for it because it was 2 year leftover stock 2012. If I need a new batt that info on the 175 cca one will probably be the one I get. 215 cca seems like overkill but never say never..............still charging at 2amps we'll see.
