Security shutter
« on: May 31, 2014, 10:29:56 PM »
I have not had a scooter or motorcycle with this feature before. Just curious as to what conditions you have used it and how often. Do very few or many people use it? Is it more necessary in countries other than North America? What has prompted this feature? Is it a good idea or just a waste? Just curious.

if you press the yellow button on the ignition cover, the metal shutter closes over the key hole to deter prying with a screwdriver. The special head on the key can open up the shutter again.

I use the shutter when parking in quiet areas. If a thief sees that my bike is harder and riskier to attempt taking, then he will skip over my bike.

I never use it unless the scooter will be sitting there (besides home) overnight or anywhere that doesn't feel safe.
