Better Chin Strap Buckle?
« on: June 04, 2014, 08:03:25 PM »
Hey, anybody found a good, safe easy to use chin strap buckle for our helmets?
I'm using an ECHO Quick Release Buckle that works easily only about 20% of the time.....sure would like to replace it.
The D-Ring is awkward for me to use.....if I robbed a bank, they'd nab me out in the parking lot trying to get my helmet secured!
Ideas?
Thanks, Stig

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I figure that the EMTs are used to the D ring system where there is plenty of strap to cut to remove the helmet after an accident.
So, I'm keeping that system and have learned to manage ,,, if I remember to secure my helmet BEFORE donning my gloves.

Scoot safely,

Leave the lid on when you rob the bank.

As an EMT, I have learned to cut a strap no matter how it is secured ( as long as the head is stabilized, of course ) .

Hey Stig, get rid of the quick release and always keep your strap buckled. Never unlatch it. Loosen the strap when your going to take your helmet off and pull it over your head. When you put your helmet back on just pull the strap over your head then synch it down. Saves a ton of time for me.

Or buy a Nolan helmet with the ratchet buckle. I just bought one about a month ago and love it. And they have the most obnoxious high vis orange you have ever seen.
