brake lever replacement

OK, how do I replace the brake lever.  I'm thinking I need to loosen the adfustment nut as far out as possible to give some slack so I can get the cable out of the old lever.  I don't want to have to take all the dreaded plastic off the front to get a good look, but i probably will have to and I have no idea how that all comes off from around the turn signals.

You have to remove the covers.  It's really not difficult!  There are 3 screws on the back side, one in the center and 2 smaller ones on either side where the turn signals drop down.  Once you remove the screws you have to pop apart the the instrument panel side from the front headlight side.  I found the easiest way to do this is just insert a flat screwdriver in the seam on the very top and the two halves should pop apart.  This will allow the back side with the instruments to pull straight back and drop down out of the way.  You have to remove the mirrors to get the headlight side off, but I don't think you will need too to get to the brake cable.  Hope this helps!

thanks shaka, i think i am going to first loosen the brake adjustment all the way and some how apply the brake at the wheel  and see if that will give me enough slack to replace the lever.  I seem to break more of the plastic every time i have to remove it.

got the new brake lever on.  i loosened the brake adjuster all the way out, removed the three screws on the front plastic, this gives enough room to get a 1/4 inch socket extention up to remove and replace the nut.  by loosening the adjuster it gives enough slack in the cable to remove and replace the handle without having to remove all the front plastic.
