Seconded.

I have no issue with them being a requirement.   We require seat belts for safety.  Child safety seats for our kids.  No Texting and no cell phones (your state may vary) but to not require a helmet seems stupid to me.

I may go sans jacket now and again but the helmet is going on.  No question and no arguements.  I value my head and life.

LIDO-- so true!! smoking is banned here in cali, and even vaping is banned in some parts of LA =/

In Vegas helmets are NOT required.  But with all the traffic and crazy tourists, wouldn't you want to wear a helmet??!

Best one so far, a guy riding a Harley with no helmet or safety gear of any kind smoking a cigarette with his left hand. He wasn't holding the bars at all with his cig hand. If he went down do you think he would hold on to the cigarette?
It's funny to see the riders with no helmet and nothing but a dew rag with the tears steaming down there face from the wind. I can't keep my visor up over about 35 because I can't see. Not sure how they ride on the freeway with nothing and see the road? Oh well.

   Ride safe everyone, mscmkr

There is an eye protection law for motorcycles in every state, and most do not allow tinted glasses at night.
The guys that ride w/out glasses have never been hit in the eye by a bug. It'll take you down quick.

So far I have been hit in the hand and the helmet by a bug. I really don't want to get hit in the eye! That damn bug hurt like hell! Interesting the things you don't know about riding until you finally get out there and ride.

I don't know if any of you have what we call "Love Bugs". They are a genetic experiment gone wrong here in Fl. They are flying bugs about 1/2 inch long, and they were developed by one of the universities down here to eradicate mosquitoes. Problem is they hatch out at the wrong time of year to control mosquitoes, and have no natural enemies

What happens is they mate on the wing, and swarm by the billions. For a couple of months down here if you do not wear some sort of face protection you are covered from head to toe w/ dead F' bugs (that's the slang term for them F' Bugs). Their body fluids also do corrode paint, and chrome if you leave them on the vehicle too long.

Kudo's to our fine universities down here. ( there MUST be a lobby connection to the car wash/wax industry.)

Its hot and humid here in CT. I see bikers on the highways with girlfreinds etc and no helmets  etc. Its like open air days are here. Unfortunately for our small state we've taken it a bit on the chin with accidents lately. We need a blessing of the motorcycles, not just the blessing of the fleet.

Guess what! It's up to you. I haven't a license in 40 years. A helmet is the least of my concerns. If you wanna ride naked, go for it.
I mean really?

Personal choice, just like condoms. Yeah!

Exactly, I never even gave a thought about bugs hitting me when I was considering a scoot.
