80cc kit
« on: July 12, 2014, 01:58:58 AM »
Hey I've got a 2005 zx50 and I want to get some more power out of it so I was thinking of getting an 80cc kit for it but I don't know all the other upgrades I need to do in order for it to run right. Any suggestions of what I should also put on it in order for everything to run smoothly without overheating?

Check the zx50 section. They are all over this topic.

For sure!

do you want a race type set up or a daily driver? There is a HUGE difference.

Read the SPI post in the General section as well. You'll save big $$$'s, and get the good stuff. Don't even bother w/ Ebay sh** for your 2t engine.

for a complete rebuild (pipe/carb/bbk/cvt components/intake tract) plan on 500.00 ish You can work down from that, and buy/install in phases.

For an old inefficient 2t design these dio based engines can produce up to 25HP, and reach 100MPH.
For a daily driver 60+ is respectable. My daily tops 70MPH but I don't ride it anymore... 6-7 years of modding it just lost the charm.
