Currently I'm using a 3/4 helmet and like it a lot, but after reading some horror stories about taking a spill I'm seriously considering a full face to protect my face if the need popped up. What do you guys wear, where did you buy yours if full face? Most look like space helmets, I'd like a more traditional look.
Unless you're constantly circling Macy's .....you ain't gonna see what you look like in your helmet.
Ride safest...full face helmet (unless there really IS one part of your face you simply don't need)

What's the point of the quote? Just curious.............xxl fits me like a glove in the Scorpion brand. I must have a huge head and never realized it. Back in the day 2 helmets I had weren't that size I know. I think those sizes are for Asians and they have a different way of sizing.

Full face in the winter, 3/4 helmet in the spring and fall, 1/2 shell in the dead of summer.

All my wife and I wear are full face helmets.  We ride with the visor opened a bit.  As long as we are moving they are fine.  When you stop they get very hot.  I doubt if we will ever not wear a full face helmet.  Ride safe my friends.

Subject header reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw in a local bookstore....," You don't need to vaccinate all of your children, only the ones you want to keep."

Maybe if the topic was helmet / no helmet. Maybe.

Full face. I like my teeth and face the way they are, and not eating through a straw. The heat's never bothered me. I just lift the visor up.

I'd rather sweat than bleed, or hemorrhage.

I'll bang this drum forever.
Full face not always the safest and in some instances can be a danger.

I've found many of the vets I work with and still ride have some cervical issues that limits full neck range of motion. I have the same problem.A full face helmet requires a wider range of motion than a 3/4. The smaller opening creates blind spots that aren't there on a 3/4.

So a choice has to be made.
Do we ride in a full face and and limit view becoming a daily danger to ourselves and others or do we wear a 3/4 and assume the slightly added risk should we end up "on the hard". Easy choice.

So sure for most full face is the way to go. But there are exceptions and that's why I find the old hat "if you like your face...." Comments just worn.

To be clear I'm HiVis ATGATT and have survived a crash due to that fact.
As for the rest of those who ride it's their choice. Hat or no hat makes no difference to me.

I understand what you’re saying and it makes sense. I tend to compensate with shoulder checks, and constant scanning. Maybe I won’t be able to do the same when I’m older, but I’ll cross that bridge later. Even without any helmet we have blind shots in our peripheral vision. If I’m going to be hit, I’d rather have the protection. My wife wears a 3/4 helmet, but she’s considering a full face, especially as the months grow colder.

A friend of mind was in a crash about 2 years ago. A car cut into his lane, cut him off and down he went. He was wearing a full face helmet. One thing he told me was the sensation of sliding down the road, having his visor pop open and his face and mouth being pelted with gravel. He fractured his hip, but other than that he was fine. His helmet was ruined, but he said if he were wearing anything less his face would have been gone.
