A Road Less Traveled
« on: July 29, 2014, 02:12:52 PM »
I got out early this morning to catch a sunrise ride. It was a nice toasty 58 degrees!  :D
Rode down a cool access road at a local state park. A little bumpy and dusty, but not too bad!
Remembered my cameras for once, so I got a few pics of the Supe!

Discovered the true cost of those photos today.
I guess while riding down that gravel access road, I ended up with gravel dust in the airbox.
It seemed to run fine the last few days, until this morning. Riding home from work, she died at a stop light, and wouldn't restart. Acted like it was flooded out.
So I pushed it to a parking lot and opened the airbox. Found a nice film of gray dust inside. I pulled off the air filter and had to physically blow through it, and gray dust came out of it. I put it all back together, and she fired up on the first try. I guess she just couldn't breathe.
Gave it all a thorough cleaning at home with a rag and some compressed air. Went riding for about an hour, with no more problems.
I guess it's time to stop by the dealer and order a couple replacement filters to open her lungs back up right!

Live and Learn!! ;D
