After a week of 24 hr on call, I had to go for a ride. Gathered my fly rod an headed from Anchorage to Girdwood on my '13 Xciting 500Ri. The drive down the Seward Hwy. was spectacular as usual with the sun gleaming off the snow capped peaks and glaciers. A light breeze offset the 75 degree temps. The 55 & 65 speed limit made the guard rails, only 6 feet away, flicker like a silent movie reel. Arriving at Glacier and California Creeks, I spent 3 hours fishing for silver salmon but only catching humpies. Took in a couple of yards sales the local '60s hippies were running. Then it was time for an early dinner at Chair 5 restaurant, a big nacho platter. Yummie. The ride back into town was a bit challenging with sun in my face at some point in every turn. Nope I didn't take any pictures, maybe next time when I go for silvers on 20 Mile river.
