Renew blacks and mirrors ?
« on: July 24, 2014, 03:10:24 AM »
HI guys , id like to spruce up my scooter a bit
the black plastics are looking sun faded and i can only see my shoulders in the mirrors

what would you sugest to return the black plastics to a nice new look
and these mirrors !,, i can only see behind me if i tilt the scooter way over to each side

im even thinking about changing colors completely to a different scheme maybe something in dark metalic green

a scheme like this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_t9QLu5SITiw/TKYfd6-BBLI/AAAAAAAACqk/tK_b6t2hF64/s1600/z1000sx.jpg
but with a darker green like this http://www.ducati.ms/forums/attachments/supersport/303041d1385078015-tricolor-pics-atomic-green.jpg

I use a couple of different products I got at my local scooter shop. My favorite is Bike Spirits. Spray it on and wipe it off and watch the shine.

Turtle Wax Vinyl restorer about 7 bucks at Wal-Mart. Worked wonders on my old Yager.

I put a set of emgo mirrors on my handle bars. Now I don't have to look at my shoulders any more. Black, cheap and seem to be holding up. For plastic u could also try son of a gun, or it's more expensive twin armor all.
