........getting to the power source (12 v) battery. Wife bought me a waterproof speaker system with an amp that I simply plug my mp3 player into. Amp has to be wired into the battery for power.. Big question.... Rather than run it all the way to the battery can I tap in closer?: There is a glove box with a wiring harness in it just below ignition with black and red wires I guess for ignition, lights, horn etc? Also a black tab below marked VIN that has wires. Any helpful hints on how to tap into the negative and positive wires in these places rather than the stress and mess of a home run to the battery???? As always, thanks gang for your guidance!!!! ! Philip

here is my suggestion.  do not attempt to 'cheat' and reuse one of the
other 12vdc leads up front by the glove box.  your amp/speaker will
likely require a larger draw and which would exceed the circuit specs of
the individual circuits up front.

you will have a much healthier sound system if you run a power lead
direct to the battery.  be sure you fuse this power lead as well.
