Where to pick up a ground ?

Where is a good place to pick up and attach a ground on a Super 8 scooter when directly wiring to the battery and not having to run the negative wire back to the negative terminal.

Anything metal on the frame or engine will work, if you use the frame scuff some of the black paint off for best contact.

B&L,
How would you attach it? Thinking you would not want to drill a screw hole in the frame (frame strength issue) or solder it on (vibration separation issue). I'm thinking a hose clamp but wondering what you think.

I would just attach it to an existing bolt already in the frame. Maybe where one of the body panels are attached.

Exactly, or where the regulator is mounted or any of the other components that are bolted to the frame.

Reasoning behind this? If anything your grounds should ALL be attached in one place, ideally towards the back of the scooter where the battery ground attaches to the frame. On situations where multiple added grounds are needed (HID kits, heated grips, etc.) I lump all the extra grounds under the voltage regulator 10mm bolt with O- connectors. You can also splice into the green ground wire on the regulator and add a section of wire to the ground "pack" to make sure it is a solid ground.
