I love my People 300 but in just over a month I've lost three bolts and now one of the plastic covers from the rear rack.  When I saw that I lost yet another bolt at work today I was lucky to have down time and grabbed a socket set and ratchet and had a quick once over.  I checked maybe twelve or more bolts and maybe four weren't loose. I was startled and now am obsessed with going over it again tomorrow.

I'd have a chat with your dealer about the quality of their predelivery set up. Some loosening might be expected...but not the whole bleedin bike!

in the first 3 weeks i lost 3 bolts.

 I love my kymco scoot and have 900miles on it , in my very limited experience, I'd say the quality of the scoot in general is decent but I wouldn't use the word good.

look on the bright side, you might lose a few bolts here and there and water may leak into the front instrument panel sometimes but at least you have a nice looking bike, right?  hehe

Just finished going over it. Every bolt and screw I checked was loose but maybe four of them. All but one trim screw was a bit loose. And one exhaust bolt was loose and while i tightened it it snapped and is now stuck in it with no head. I wasn't using too much force either. So I've lost three exhaust bolts a trim bolt and a plastic panel from the rack. Wow. Not a good start.

Yepper that's BS.
The dealer was asleep at the wheel. The PDI if done properly would caught most loose bolts.
Sounds like it was out of the crate, throw on the wheels and deliver.

One of the reasons I buy new from B&M dealers is so that I don't have to twist a wrench. One loose bolt and I'm back at the store. If I had to do the PDI I'd just have a china scoot dropped shipped.

You paid for a service I'd go see the dealer.

I agree... DEALER should have checked ALL of these prior to putting bike on the floor for sales !!

I would MAKE them replace the stripped screw and offer some sort of compensation (first service?? ) for the headache and (especially) worries about a SAFE ride during time you rode ( before being able to check tightness yourself ) .

If they don't...I would hint about  notifying whoever (Bureau of Motor Vehicles ) for sale of an UNSAFE vehicle . Be assertive and let them know that safety IS a PRIORITY !!

This was bought used and "as-is". I bought it from a place that isn't my prefered shop. I'm really not suprised by this but was upset all the same. I've been to my shop and have ordered new pieces.

Get some Loctite Red and Blue and do what you did over again.

Vibration and losing nuts/bolts/screws on 2 wheels is not just a Kymco problem. It's standard to everything on 2 wheels. Just ask any thumper owner and you'll get the missing? look.

Very true it happens.
It shouldn't happen to new bikes that were had PDI. I read about this a lot , no excuse for that.
Over time sure things loosen up.

I use blue locktite on anything that is important not to loosen up, like brake caliper bolts. YMMV.

I just lost my rear brake cable clamp/bracket p/n 11382-LCD2-E00 as it rattled lose. Does anyone know where to get one. Just using a zip tie now to hold it in place.
