Rear luggage rack question.
« on: September 04, 2014, 04:32:33 PM »
I have a 2012 Super 8 150. Had it for 6 months, and use it as my only vehicle, rain or shine. I love it!
What I don't love, is the rear rack. It looks nice, but it's 3 shades of useless when I need to strap something down to it. It's too narrow and oddly shaped to be of any real practical use.

Then, while at my dealer a while back, I got to looking at the wider tubular rack on an Agility 125. I noticed that the mounting points were laid out almost identical to the Super 8's, although I didn't have a chance to actually measure the spacing of the mount points.

So, I was just wondering, does anyone know if the Agility's rack will mount on the Super's tail?
I know it would look weird, but for me, function is way more important than looking cool.

I appreciate any input!

I can't answer your specific question, but just a thought - have you considered a top case like the SHAD or GIVI?  I just bought the SHAD case for my downtown, and am waiting for it to arrive still.  One of the things that sold me on it though is it looks like I can add a rack to the top of the case, giving me even more storage, if needed.

I don't want to do a top case. I just want to be able to properly tie down stuff like my gym bag, or my camera equipment when I need to.
I use a backpack on the floorboard, hooked on the bag hook, for the small everyday stuff.
