Prodigal son returns

Age is catching up with me. Have ridden motorcycles off and on for years. Came back to riding 3 years ago. Started out on a Suzuki c50 then went to a Yamaha Majesty 400 because I was having problems with the clutch due to hand tremors. Got on the Majesty and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was more at ease riding a scoot and not having to deal wiyth shifting and the weight of the bigger motorcycle. But as time went on gave in to peer pressure from friends and the feel of a motorcycle. Sold the majesty and got a virago 250. nice bike and alot of fun but still was not comfortable due to the worsening hand tremors. So after dumping the clutch at an intersection a couple of weeks ago decided it was time to return to a scoot and a gentler and more enjoyable ride. So this saturday I am picking up a 2009 Grandvista and am so looking forward to it. I will never go back to a motorcycle. I truly loved my previous experience with a scoot and now regret I did not stay with it. You've won me back. Will share my new enthusiam with anyone who will listen in the coming days,months and years ahead.

AWESOME!!! Sorry to hear about the physical limitations though. I look at scoots. as the second coming of common sense. Glad to hear PEER pressure goes away. I would still be jumping off roofs w/ an umbrella just to see if it worked. Enjoy what you ride, that's the BOTTOM LINE. To top it off You can buy a New scoot for the price of a fat boy trans... Go figure!

Welcome back to the world of scooters.  I have made the long circle.  From the Rockford 50 (Sears and Roebuck) to a Cushman Eagle, tank shifter and all then on to motorcycles.  Now after 45 years riding motorcycles I bought my wife a scooter.  Put more miles on it than she did and she finally told me to get my own.  Now I had rather ride the X500 than the Goldwing.  It's just too much fun and easier to to ride.  Look mom, no shifting...  ;D

I have also found a whole new group of friends with all the other people who love their scooters.

I'm w/ you there winginman>. If there is a down side to "scoot'n" I have not found it.Less expensive to buy, operate, maintain, and easier to ride equals more fun to me! With the BIGGER IS BETTER  mentality we all grew up with, it's hard to convince SOME people the rest of the world just may have something good going! I own 3 different 50cc scoots and ride about 30-40 miles every day. (no Interstate cruising here) You do meet some very interesting people riding a scoot.

Bought a car last week after 7+ years of bikes-scooters-quads only.
