Just for the record, as a native here, i wish more people hated Portland. There's a sh** ton of people moving here and it SUCKS!!!!! Everyone moves here cus its soooo "cool". And i bet that's why you hate Portland, maybe idk. These people come here to be so hip.... Movies here, tv shows here, buncha bullsh**. The city itself is awesome, but there's lots of people trying way to hard to be cool LOL. Everyone drives 30mph regardless of speed limit so it makes for fun hooligan scooter riding tho

That's EXACTLY why! It's not the geography (which is beautiful) or the weather (which is passable) or the local Govt (which is tolerable).

It's all the Damn Hippies!!!!!!! F'n Bastards should be rotting on my fathers doorstep! (Satan)

I Love Yami's. I still would love to rock an Aerox, and my favorite bike as a kid was a Yami 175 something or another. The first street bike I had was a 250 twin 2 t. Rd 250 I think... It beat the balls off a Triumph in Ed's Bay Pub's parking lot on my 16th birthday.

Got my ass kicked by the Triumph guy later that night but I still beat his rat ass bike.

Anyway......... I'm just jealous. You live closer to all the seed than I do. Aii we get here is pollen, and I'm not into that.

Lol yeah, i just ignore the bullsh** here. It's not even hippies, they just go about their business. The hipsters and yuppies' are terrible. I've straight up had drunk fixie riders spit on me for trying to pass when they were in the middle of a two way neighborhood road. Guess what they yelled? "Bike lane asshole!" Hahaha it took everything to not open my door and level that guy. And his friend generically enough was on a high bike, if you know what that is. (two frames welded together for extra cool). Man i could go onnnnnn!!! Really tho lots of people here are really cool, nice and normal. The govmt here is actually kinda f*&$#@ up, it's hilarious how they manage money. They are now possibly going hike up income tax (already one of the highest in the country) because they don't have enough money to fix potholes. Well you might say this is a normal problem for a city, but they are building miles of new light rail and streetcar tracks including a multi hundred million dollar bridge that, guess what... ONLY IS FOR BIKES AND PEDESTRIANS!!!!!! haha But hey, the bridge looks pretty sweet and I might be able to late night scooter it summertime.

I get ya! I gave up on big cities years ago. I still miss the good points like decent food but other than that... No brainer.

The first High bike I saw was 44 years ago in DC. I've never seen one since. I see what you mean by the type of clowns just from that alone!

Good luck w/ that!!!

I really like way those Yamaha CW50's look.  I found one in OK for $800 that was in really good shape, but no title.  They were original owners, just rode it on the property, so didn't need to get it titled.  In TX if you buy a scooter without title and want it street legal will cost approx $400, best I can tell.  There are ways around this, but I haven't figured it out without committing outright fraud lol's.

I am locked into Kymco now anyway.  I am finding there are many parts interchangeable between People 50 and Super 9 which is big plus for me.  Yamaha is more $'s just for name only, best I can tell Kymco is as good or better for less $'s.  So, probably no Yamaha in my future.  In kart racing Yamaha KT100 engine is very popular, but I never had one.  Was know as Mr Sticky by detractors like me, cause it would stick piston in cylinder so often.  Sorry to bore with kart stuff, but I did so long it's all I know.  Cheers
1st and 2nd usually have an unfair advantage.  3rd is usually the best, can learn the most from.  paraphrased from Don Quixote, over 400 years ago, still true today

Yeah the Air Cooled Super 9 is the exact same motor as the People 50, and all the other air cooled 2t Kymco engines except the ZX-50 which is a clone of the Honda "dio" (Elite) engine. every last bit off the engine will interchange. The only difference being the People case is longer to accommodate the 16" wheel. Go Karts and boring shouldn't go in the same sentence!!! Shifter carts are bad frikin' ass!!!! We go to this place called SyKart, they aren't shifter karts, but once you qualify you can use the 10hp carts which are about as fast as the tight indoor course can handle. I got pushed into a pole once going prolly 35 to dead stop instantly, just about broke my neck...... Good times!

My bud in Long Island had some sort of cart. Fuel injected, and lap top tuneable. He claimed it has done over 120mph.

I couldn't imagine...
