Need Help Derestricting 2014 Kymco Super 8 50 2T (2 Stroke)
« on: January 09, 2015, 03:43:41 AM »
I am wondering how to derestrict my brand new 2014 Kymco Super 8 50 2T (2 Stroke). What was can I derestrict it? I know about the CDI but I dont know which one to buy or what wires to detach. BTW I live America. Please respond ASAP, it would be nice. =) Also I have 50 miles/80.4km on it so I wont be modding it until I reach the 100 mile/300km mark. Any questions message me on here and I can give you my phone number since I'm usually on it, I can also send pictures if need be.

Welcome to the forum Mr.Boston...
I wrote a decent response to your post but it timed out...

Hang tight, and use the =search for more info.

Your restrictions are in the air box at the "snorkel", and the drive boss in the variator.

The first requires a larger main jet, and tweaking of the idle mix screw, and the second requires a new drive boss.

Both will cost less than 15 bucks, and will gain you approx. 5 mph top speed.

Luckily your question has never been asked before so I think the smart fellas here will have fun researching what you need. ;D ;D ;D

I can't find the idle screw I tried yesterday. I swear Kymco doesn't want you to Derestrict anything. Can you show me a picture of where it is? I think I have to tighten the bolt connecting the throttle to idle

This will help you out...

Your mix screw Might have a brass cap over it. You need a small drill bit, and a similar sized screw to pry that cap off. It does come out easily. Then you will need to get the special tool that fits the idle screw OR just cut a slot in it to use a regular screwdriver.

It's all easier than it sounds. Also you don't need to remove the Intake Manifold like the kid in the vid did. You can just remove the carb from it on the bike..

The idle screw is on the left side of the bike, a flathead screw. It's not on the throttle cable. Careful messing with too much if you don't know what your doing you can really screw your scooter up. Derestriction is easy but it requires taking the carb off, and taking the variator apart.

From what I have read... no. It's all in the CVT, and the intake/exhaust system. All simple, and cheap fixes.

That's it? Once I qualify for my first service they'll put the jet in and that's that then? Are there anyother things I can do to make it go faster, especially uphill. I rode it today and it only goes 30 downhill I had it full throttle and all.

The drive boss/remove the square rubber plug in the air box/Install the main jet/add 6 gram rollers or sliders/add a Malossi red or purple control spring in the rear pulleys.

You'll get 40 mph, and hills will not be an issue.

Read around the forum more. Especially all the agility 50cc posts. Usually the first few posts on a thread will have all the same info. Then it turns into babbling BS.

That's how we roll here...

Ok, I just replaced the restricted boss with the unrestricted boss. I just bought 5 gram high performance rollers. I am wondering about the jet what's it look like and how do I install it?

A larger carb (24mm), and a Technigas pipe will add about 4-5mph top end, and a little quicker take off
