Alabama Riding in February
« on: March 02, 2015, 03:04:48 PM »
One of the nice things about living in Alabama is that the weather is nice enough for year round riding.

It's too bad that those stock Chen Shin tires don't work in wet weather.  My rear Chen Shin has over 10,000 miles on it.

Year around rideing can be fun if you go slow and safe.

Alabama...so that's where our snow went.   Nothing but ice in Anchorage, for the moment.

A few days ago we had a nice snow storm.  The next day it cleared up so I went for a longer ride and took some pics.

Yesterday it got up in to the 70s so I went to the beach.

This morning it's 29 degrees and everything is covered in a sheet of ice. :o

This weekend it will be 50s and sunny again :)

Just curious which model "dirt bike" is in the above image, and if there have been any significant maintenance issues?  Some of the 250 China models are getting pretty cheap.

There are numerous models in your ADV Rider profile . . .

"Motorcycles owned currently
12 VERSYS, 05KLR650, 09 Super 8 150, 09 SC250
Motorcycles owned past
KZ400, GS550E, KE175, XV550, FJ1100, VENTURE 1200, EX500, 650 SECA, SV650, R1100GS, DR250, KDX200"

The bike in the pic is my 05 KLR650 which has nearly 35,000 miles on it with no significant maintenance issues.

As for all those other bikes in my ADV profile, I have been scanning my old 35mm photographs of those old bikes and doing a ride report going way back into the past.  The link to that report is here:  http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1042598

Here's one of those bikes from my past:
