DerekG's Super 9 back roading/adventure RR thread
« on: May 06, 2014, 09:33:18 PM »
Finally got a chance to give the new Kenda dual sport tires a proper test on some local dirt roads.

I went out for a quick ride across town that turned into an hour and a half cruise.

Tires handled great and didn't feel unstable at all under braking or moderate cornering. They felt a little squirrly on a section of gravel that was just laid down due to the size of the rocks (2" diameter) but anything smaller than that it handled like a champ.

Beautiful pics, Derek.  Hey, my Super 9 looks exactly the same as yours.  Although I'm in the City, I wish I could trailer the Super 9 to some country roads like you're picturing.  Looks like great fun.  And a great scooter......

Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys! I'm located in central Oklahoma (Ada). I had a blast, hopefully I'll be doing more exploring on the back roads.

I am really ignorant about this country. I THOUGHT Oklahoma looked like the Sahara. Dirt, and rocks.
Nice to know it's really beautiful! :)

Lol I'm always the first one to say that OK isn't a "fly-over" state. I'm an outdoorsman that can find beauty in any landscape....I'll throw up a few pics I've taken in OK tomorrow.

very cool!

I'm an Irish Zombie, and prefer the indoor sports. So Picts are a big adventure.

Figured I should use this thread as my RR thread and just update this instead of making new threads.

Road to work today knowing there was rain coming because I wanted to test the the ability of the new tires in the wet. It was light rain when I left work so I decided to take the long way home. Unfortunately it started raining pretty hard and I was starting to see lightning so I decided to cut the ride short and come home, but the tires handled fantastic.

I was taking it a little easier than normal since it was the first time riding with them in the wet, but by the end of the ride I felt confident enough to drive about 75-85% of how I would in the dry.

wasn't able to take a ton of pics this time due to the rain...my S4 screen doesn't respond that well when it's all wet lol

They just look creepy in the second Pict. Think about burning them.

Almost a year has passed since my last RR lol

Finally having some nice weather as of late and took the S9 for a cruise/picture session.

Carved a few corners on the outskirts of town, then hit a few dirt roads in the rolling hills of OK.

The Kendas still have less than 1k miles on them, but no real complaints yet other than a little tire noise on very smooth roads at 35-40mph. I was expecting that though since they are dual sport tires so no big deal.

Nice!  I've had my kendas on for a few thousand kms.  I've found them to be great bang for the buck.
Almost...at...speed...limit... Aww, brake lights..
