New Guy, Old Fart.
« on: May 26, 2015, 05:02:00 PM »
Hi there. The name's Neal, 49 years old and new to the forum.  I have 4 kids (daughter 18, sons 16, 10 & 8 ).  My daily bike is a BMW R1200GS but no stable is complete without a couple of scooters (ZX50, Agility 125 & Derbi 50 GPR).

On Friday I picked up my 2nd Kymco, (my other is a ZX50), a new 2013 Agility 125 for $1649.00 OTD.  I did find others listed as low as $1399.00 but many dealers added $400-600 in prep and paper fees.

After warming up the bike smelled bad so the 1st thing I did was replace the engine and transmission oil.  The engine oil was very low but transmission seemed about right.  As no prep fee was charged I did not want to chance that the oil in my bike was old and Chinese.  The whole service took less than an hour.

I rode the bike all weekend and so far it feels great.  I like it! :)

My nephew Jon, taking my son Ronin to the "Zombie" house.

Neal, you will find that 49 barely qualifies you for the title of old far on this forum! Welcome and great pictures!

Here are pics of the Derbi GPR 50.  My daughter wanted a geared moped to learn on after she had mastered the ZX50.

Thanks OB.  I've been riding for over 30 years but I try to learn something new each time I ride.

Thanks WK.  I live in Pella, Iowa, now but lived in Wichita from 2003-2009.  The guy in the pic with the t-shirt is my nephew who "adopted" the scoot and took my son on a "road-trip" around the neighborhood every day of Memorial Day weekend.

Welcome to the forum Howzit:
The Agility 125 is a great bike. I had two Chinese 49cc scooters before I purchased my current bike. The Agility is a good bike. I twist the throttle a little bit and she just loves to go. This is all about fun and having a good time riding with friends. You made a good choice. I have had mine for about 2 and a half years. She was purchased on December 11th, 2012. When I did not have a car, I rode her when it was 115 plus degrees here in the desert a few years back and she did well. Kymco builds these bikes for all types of weather. Have fun with your new toys.

Thanks King K.  Yeah, I thought my bike was made in Taiwan so it was a bit of a let-down to see the "Made in China" sticker.  The ZX50 is as good as any Japanese bike so here's hoping this Chinese made scoot will hold up.

You'll be just fine, Kymco has quality control in those factories. If I were rich could I marry your daughter with a large dowry.

Arranged marriages are archaic, so NO you could not marry my daughter.  As she was born in Africa he future husband will have to pay me Lobola (in her case 50 cows). As you don't own 50 cows the answer is still NO. Also, "If I was rich..." means you are poor, so NO again.

...now, as my sons are born is America, are handsome and well educated, I will be expecting a large dowry from their future wives.
