Wow, amazing on a 125 and of course: Honda reliability. Never ridden a PCX but looks like a nice scoot. Now I know Tom why you still pine for your Forza. All things considered, I'd probably choose a Forza over a PCX.

Next year's scooter cannonball is from Boston to Morro Bay. A cross country trip on a small scooter sounds like a blast, but the pace of the cannonball would be a drag. I bought the Smax to do longer trips on back roads. I would love to take the time to do something like he did.
 The Like is too uncomfortable to ride for long periods at high speeds. I have done about 180 miles in one day on the Like. I was sore for two days.

I knew she was heading to Alaska. Did not know she had an accident. Hope she is OK. She is truly an IRON BUTT with a lot of guts.

Amazing feats to say the least until I bump into someone like the chap I met in Bodega Bay, CA. at a hippie coffee shop (my kinda place) who started in May on the east coast and rode his bicycle across the US. He's from Switzerland and had just dropped down from Yellowstone and ridden the coast highway down through Oregon and CA. He was an old guy and looked like an older version of Lance Armstrong. Now I find that truly amazing. We passed lots of these riders on our 575 mile ride up Hwy 1 from SF to southern Oregon 2 weeks ago. Double panniers front and rear and many proudly flying the maple leaf, our friends to the north.

A truly remarkable lady. I have always wanted to tour Alaska on a bike (with motor) but never did and now I think age and health will cancel any such plans. The roads are terrible and many impassable except in the summer and road work continues, with no end. I also hope her crash wasn't too bad and I'm sure it will only be a temporary set-back for an enthusiast like her.

Stephanie Yue has traveled all around the USA, Canada and Mexico 67,000 on a Vespa 250cc scoot.
I met her twice during the "High Roller" events held here in Las Vegas.  We talked about how marginal a 250cc scooter was for touring even for someone as small as she was. There were times she couldn't break 50 mph in a headwind traveling through Montana. That was before she added side cases.

Below was her itinerary through Alaska.
Here's where the dates get extra flexible. Basically, I have about 40 days to ride where I feel like it!

Stage 2: Seattle, WA → Haines, AK (~5k miles)
May 9: Port Angeles, WA with Laura. Must resist oversupplying at Swain's.
May 10 ~ 11: Vancouver, BC with Rob, Vespa Club of Canada's website designer.
May 12: Whistler, BC with Neil the Cannonballer.
May 13: Lac la Hache at the Rangeland Motel, owned by Ruckus former prez, George.
May 14: Vanderhoof, BC. Motel.
May 15: Hazelton, BC with Pamela's friend, Phil and Peggy
May 16: Stewart, BC. Camping.
May 17: Boya Lake, BC. Camping.
May 18 ~ 21: Whitehorse, YT. Beez Kneez Bakpakers.
May 22 ~ 23: Dawson City, YT. Hostel.
May 24: Tok, AK, via Top of the World Highway!
May 25 ~ 26: Fairbanks, AK. Billie's Backpacker's Hostel.
May 27: Coldfoot Camp, AK.
May 28 ~ 29: Return to Fairbanks, AK by plane. Huge thanks to Billie's Backpacker's Hostel.

On May 28th, my bike went down as I was returning from Atigun Pass. I flew to Seattle, WA with a broken collarbone. Serenity is currently stored in AK. Huge thank you to everyone who helped me towards recovery!

Stage 3: Mending in Seattle, WA
May 30 ~ June 28: Convalesce in Seattle, WA with Gwynne and Tom.

Bonus Stage: Boston, MA
June 29 ~ July 12: Fly to Peru for a family trip. Yep, you read that right, gonna hike Machu Picchu in moto boots!
July 13 ~ 16: Lammy Jammy in Lehigh, PA.
July 17 ~ onward: Rest in Cambridge, MA. Cuddle the Fred.

Scooters are inanimate objects. Unless the wind blew it over while parked.....rider took down scooter.
Details are helpful to other riders.
