Let me ask a serious question about these modular helmets.

In a wreck, won't all that extra "hardware" fly apart? Does it really offer the same or similar protection as a full face?
Good question.
Modular helmets are DOT approved....SNELL has not come through yet. Might not ever.
Here's my point....With glasses I must wear a modular helmet - or an open faced helmet.
I tried for 3 days to wear a full face/solid helmet. Impossible.
It's a no-brainer for me - open face offers no protection for the face/jaw/teeth, etc. Modular helmets do.
I wear a modular because it is safer than anything less.

3 Safe: Full Face Modular Helmets

**NOLAN doesn't make cereal bowls...so these u-build-its must have some safe points.
Sermon: You gotta wear it to be safe.
              It must fit you correctly.
Videos show you how it should fit.
All helmets are different shapes -- you must try them on before you buy it.
No CL helmets, buy NEW, never used.

I bought my full face off of CL for $55, $200 new. He said he only wore it twice and it looked and smelled pristine so I bought it. I don't see a problem if it's the right deal. It fits perfectly too. xxl, my 3/4 fits perfectly and it's a xl, same brand too go figure.

I'm going to buy a helmet at some point but I too have fitment issues. Most helmets sit too high on my head, and catch the wind. I constantly fight to counter act this. Not comfy at all.

Full face to me is the least safe because it obscures your peripheral vision., and masks the sounds around you. About 15-18 years ago I was in a street wreck, 3/4 helmet, and the helmet was far worse off afterwards than me. I get the need for one but i can't as yet find the right one.

Now if they made one with open sides where you could see, and hear, and the damn thing wasn't like a sail on your head... I'd have no issues.

I can't wait to see what I come up with.
Maybe helmet b

OK, Stig, how much? I finally gathered the courage to ask such a nosy question!

Karl
Rider UPDATE on this helmet:

Pretty  quiet compared to my HJC.
I like these two things: Noticed less pull on my head at speed (must be more aerodynamic because my head is the same size it was last month - checked with my RedSox hat)
....and the larger viewing area means I no longer have to move my head down to see my gauges on the Kymco or the Forza. This was a very awkard thing to do in traffic - checking my speed ( I can feel with my thumb if the blinkers were left on - but have to look to see if there is a reason that squirrel is tailgating me)
Getting used to the smoked sun visor - after decades of never using sun glasses.

Still can't remember which way is off on the vents while riding. (not the helmets fault - after 2yrs still don't know on the HJC)
