Kymco Like 200LX parts....

My buddy was in an accident with his Like 200LX (blue/white) scoot last week and the insurance company totaled it out. The bike has lots of perfectly good parts on it including the entire drive train (4K miles), many of the body plastics, windshield, seat, lights, wheels, etc. I'm trying to gauge the interest here to see whether my buddy should let the insurance company take it versus him parting it out and selling the parts to people who need them. If he keeps the bike, they are only going to give him a paltry $900 for it versus $1,400 if he lets them take it.

Any interest in these 200 Like LX parts?

I've parted a couple of complete scooters over the last couple of years, IMO take the $1,400 and be done with it unless your friend  enjoys this type of thing.  Between the forum, Craigslist and Ebay it took me 12 months to completely be rid of a SYM HD200.   I really liked taking the scooter apart knowing I didn't have to put it back together again.  And, the parts on the shelves in my garage took up a whole lot less room than the entire scooter.   I grossed about $1,000 on the HD200 which is notoriously hard to get parts for.  Just my 2 cents worth.

I tend to agree with you. That's what I'm gonna advise him to do.

I actually have the identical bike. I'd buy it from him myself for $500, but I just don't have the room for either the whole bike, or storing all the individual parts in my garage.

I sold my 2012 Like 200i with 2,900 miles last fall for $1,350.   It was mint, and took a while to sale.  $1,400 from the insurance company seems reasonable.
