Deltran Battery Tender Jr ?
« on: October 28, 2015, 01:16:29 PM »
I have an '06 (pitiful, I had to look at the key to see what kind it was :-)) Chevy truck. 6cylinder, very nice with 33K on it. Hardly ever gets driven...and hope to rarely have to leave my scooter home this winter and drive the truck.
My question: can I keep my scooter's Deltran Jr battery tender on it?
Says for automotive use on the back....will it keep my truck's battery up?
(My very kind in-laws are worried about me scootering to work in all weather and temps....or are trying to shame me into staying off the scoot when it's 10°F. Not working....so the Chevy is getting very little use.)
What say you about hooking up Jr ??
Thanks, Stig

Considering the scrawny amps required to float a battery of nearly any size the tender otta work on nearly anything with a lead-acid except forklifts or submarines.

IMO.

Karl, you give new meaning to double-talk.  ;)

Stig, my brother uses a Deltran Jr. for overwintering his RV batteries. He has done this for years with no issues. The batteries are heavy duty and deep cycle.

The Deltran Battery Tender Jr. will charge most batteries (including trucks, cars etc.) I will just take longer to get there. The "Battery Tender Plus" has twice the charging capability. I use this on my wife's VW EOS convertible in the Winter. I use the Tender Jr. for my scooters.
