How do you know what size to buy? I have 2 helmets made by same manufacturer. 3/4 is a 1X, full face is a 2X. W/O trying them on I would have never known what size to buy that fit me perfectly. Fullface was a craigs buy and I got lucky, 1x would have been too small in a fullface.

I hear you. I have one helmet that is M and one is a S. The one I ordered online they also have a eBay store, exchanged my helmet for a size smaller. Just had to pay for shipping it back to them. I wanted a retro helmet and they didn't have any around me so thats why I bought online. It would seem the in person is the best bet. That way you can see how you look in it most importantly and get that snug fit. Seem like the same goes for motorcycle jackets that either fit too big or small when you order your size.
