impressed, so impressed!!
« on: October 23, 2015, 06:30:25 PM »
I just got back from a 80 mile ride on my new GTI300 and one word described it, "WOW"  this could be the end all scooter!

Little back ground: I've own "Chinese scooter-150cc" put 10k on it before I sold it and it would top at around 50mph.  Second scooter is a used "kymco people 250" with 15k on it and is was a hoot at 74mph and maximum storage until it got stolen right out of my front door.  Then came the GTI300, I've read about it since it came out and thought it was awesome, but never look into it as it was out of my price range.  Also have a 09 Buell 1125CR(my baby), the one ride no body picks on at a red light!

My I mind you that I am at Denver Colorado, 5800ft/sea level.  I took it up I-70 Floyd hill at 5% grade and probably close to 10k above sea level with top case and it cruised beautifully!!  at 75mph full throttle and still climbing!! I had to back it off as I see there is no need to go even faster, lol.  Now if I can only do at least 70 two-up would be PERFECT!  I love the power, the weight, the powerful disk brakes and how smooth it runs with the step through and how nimble and small it felt.  My favorite view of the bike is the tail light, shines like a diamond glistering at a distance.  Suspension is a dream for scooters, no harsh bumpy ride, just smooth gliding.  Its the best scooter I've ridden to date, and I thought the only way I could get satisfaction is to get a T-max, ha, not anymore!!  Even had a Dodge diesel with 3 a-pillar gauges felt threaten enough to stomp on it when I pulled away effortlessly from the light!! that was fun! must be a story to tell his buddies lol, yeah you know, I took on the scooter today and beat it!!  with my almighty 6 cylinder turbo diesel and 6700cc, lol.

The bad:  Idles a little rough, not enough storage under seat, plastic covers all over the handle-bar, why the plastic cover on the tranny casing too??!,

I have a feeling I am going to ride a lot more on this baby then I ever will!  everything will remain stock except LED lights all around and maybe K&N filter when the time comes.  Oh yes and maybe this: http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/Almax-Immobiliser-Series-IV/Almax-Immobiliser-Series-IV--Uber--Squire-SS65CS-Lock__p-70-129.aspx

This scooter made me felt better after getting my people 250 stolen, I am glade I stayed with Kymco family. Loving it!

What a testimony! Beat that, Marketing! Welcome to this nut-house forum and all the creatures within. Lotsa good help and people here.

Try the initialization procedure for that rough idle and see what happens. Bet it will fix the idle. Hope you bought it at Sportique.

Thanks for the welcome, here is the pictures of them.  I've tried the initialization and also turn up the idle screw half a turn and now it seems much better, thanks for the tip.

YJ, initialization is a handlebar procedure required anytime the TPS, ISC are replaced according to the service manual. Also works for any departure from computer controlled idle of 1600 +/- 100 rpm, surging, whatever is NOT smooth idle. It goes like this: parked on centerstand, sidestand up, ign off, start-run in run, throttle wide open, key on (no start), eight seconds later from key on throttle closed, key off, throttle closed. Try normal start, check idle. Repeat above if idle is not right. Hey, did I get that right, y'all? I would leave that idle stop adjustment alone since it is not an idle setting like on a carb.
