34°F and fog

Dark ride in a cold fog this morning.
My scooter has great lighting - but my face sheild kept misting over in the heavy fog.
That is a pain - and it was actually much heavier after sunrise on my ride home.
Supposed to get into the 20's at night - so last night's temp. looked pretty good - all things considered.
Have never found any product that adequately dealt with the heavy misting in a heavy fog - so I was wiping every 20 seconds.

So the liquid rainx doesn't help on your visor that's what I use and it seems to work pretty good

I did not know they made a rainx for plastic. ...I will certainly give it a try.  Thanks.
My experience with rain repellents is that they fail to prevent misting over in a heavy fog. By the time they begin to bead the mist...I've been nearly blind too long!

Not a problem. If you have a Walmart in your area that's where I get mine from. It's back in the automotive department

Stig, do you ever come upon black ice on your early morning cold rides? I did once on my enduro years ago. Thankfully I stayed upright until I slid into a snow bank. 😱

Heavy fog this morning in Charlotte ahead of that cold front I use the RainX for plastic and antifog and still rode today half the time with visor up

Yes I watch for that....if it is skittish on my neighborhood streets - which can hold onto a frozen frost more so than busy roads - I turn around and go home. Actually, I walk it first and check with my feet to see if it looks scetchy.
Only hit ice one time on a motorcycle -- yrs ago commuting to work in Mass. A dadgum street sweeper had sprayed water in an intersection in Jan. ! I did a fancy little dirt track drift and voiced a new word into the English language.
I enjoy riding my scooter and will do so in any temps. - but if it looks like it might be a problem, I stay off of it.
Have had the darn forecaster be wrong - get caught in a snow flurry on the way home from work. Not fun.

Snow about on the shoulders, and shady areas - OK, I deal with those. Not the Alps around here - so I know where the shade is....or I'll check it first with the car.

Nice pictures Stig. I am glad we do not have that problem here in the desert. It does get cold here at night in the desert. This week lows were 31 degrees. December lows tend to get into the low to mid 20's. Yes, it does get this cold in the Mojave desert of Las Vegas.

Those folks living on Mt. Charleston Above 7000 feet or further north say Tonopah have nights and days that regularly dip into the 20's or lower.
Speaking of Las Vegas temperatures, bear in mind these lows are recorded during the early morning hours say 4am:
The coldest day of the last 12 months was January 2, with a low temperature of 29°F. For reference, on that day the average low temperature is 38°F and the low temperature drops below 31°F only one day in ten. The coldest month of the last 12 months was December with an average daily low temperature of 38°F.
Unless we have a front push through during daylight hours, the LOWS are recorded early morning right before dawn.
