Grand Dink 250 Case GASKET COVER
« on: October 11, 2015, 05:57:44 PM »
Hallo everyone,

I'm typycly new here. One small thing: When I opened the case of the transmission(to inspect or change something), I broke the paper gasket that seals between case of machine and and the cover of the transmission. Is this gasket even needed?

Thanks

Not really if surfaces are smooth and flat! A little grease smeared all round to stop any corrosion on mating surfaces.

I second that.  My gasket is a little torn / tired from checking and changing the drive belt. Carboard has a way of bonding to metal and when you open the case parts of it are bonded to the engine side while other parts bond the the cover resulting in a torn gasket.  No big deal.
