What's correct tire pressure?
« on: March 15, 2008, 01:22:24 PM »
Manual shows tire pressure as kg/square cm. The tire says something totally different. Anybody know what I should be using?

Yes. Use the manual's recommendation. The tire may have more than one application, and chances are, if you fill it to the safe limit marked on the tire, it will ride a lot rougher and not corner or handle as well as is proper for a scooter of a given weight.

If you need to convert kg/cm^2, click here, and choose "gram force/square centimeter" on the left, and "pound/square inch" on the right. Now, if the tire pressure is 2.2kg/cm^2, put in 2200 in the field at the top, and click the convert button. That'd be 31.3lbs. psi.

HTH,

Happy to be of service.  :)

Now, if this Boost Mobile Motorola i425t phone will ever finish charging, I'm gonna test out its GPS tracking (and hence, anti-theft for scooters application, with Mologogo).

The manual for my 2005 150 says the normal pressure (with 1 rider) should be 1.75 kg/cm in the front tire and 2.0 kg/cm in the rear tire.  This converts to 24.9 psi and 28.4 psi, respectively.  For 2 riders they recommend 32 psi in the rear tire (front stays the same).
