Shinko rear tire installed
«

I ordered a Shinko rear tire from Motorcycle Superstore. It got here today. I took the wheel to a local shop where they installed the new tire for ten bucks. When I picked it up I asked if they'd balanced it and the fellow said no, that he had no way to balance a scooter tire. But, he said the wheel weights should stay on since they were probably installed at the factory to balance just the wheel itself.
I put it back on and went for a test ride this evening and it rides just a smooth as you please. Took it as high as 140 kph.
Cost of tire was $41.99 -- free shipping since I ordered a few other small items to get it up over $75.00.
To break the axle nut loose, I'm glad I had a half inch breaker bar.
Man am I loving this scooter!

$10 what a deal. The local MC shop charged me $45
to mount and balance a rear tire on the Scarabeo (carry in). I don't need a tire yet on the Xciting but expect to before summer is over.
100% agreement the X500 is a fine machine. I love it.

I have been real curious to see the life span of the diablos. I have a few thou. on the vipers, and they still look new. No cupping, and almost 1/32" wear.

From all I could find the Diablo's wear @ 11'000 km. I would like to see if it is true, or just repeated trash. (rear tire)
